October 1st is Older People's Day in the UK and coincides with the UN International Day of Older Persons.
In Llangunnor a week of activities and events have been planned around the 1st October. The aim of the week is to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society and to challenge negative attitudes and outdated stereotypes
Joining in a Older People's Day event is a fantastic chance to meet new people and to try something new.
10.00 - 12.30 Information & Resources: A chance to find out what is available to people locally, various agencies and groups will be on hand with information.

13.30 - 15.30 Sewing Group Quilting Class: Come along and join in with the regular sewing group. Bring your own work.

19.00 Riotous Carmarthen: Join Alun Lenny who will be giving a talk on the riotous past of Carmarthen.

10.00 - 12.00 Coffee Morning: Come along and join in with Tregynwr Social Club for this free coffee morning with live entertainment by Ivor Wilson.
Cost - £FREE
18.00-21.00 Quiz Night: An event suitable for young and old and a chance for a mixing of the generations. £40 Morrisons voucher for the winning team.
Cost - £2.00 per person or 2 Time Credits per person.
10.00 Fun Bingo A fun bingo session and a warm welcome to all.
14.00 Age Cymru Arts and Crafts: A regular session held at Yr Aelwyd this week they will be joined by Shelbyart. The session is open to other crafters who may like to come along.
Cost - £1 or 2 Time Credits.
18.00 Film Night Showing "Saving Mr Banks"
Cost £0.50 or 2 Time Credits (tea and biscuits included)
14.00 Age Cymru LIFT Class Regular 50+ fun exercise class, welcome to all.
15.00 Performance of "Grand Slam" A bilingual show sure to entertain.
