The end of December 2013 saw the incumbent vicar Canon Reverend Aled Griffiths retire and it was announced on 13th April 2014 that the Bishop had appointed the Venerable Canon Roger Hughes as new "Priest in Charge" for Llangunnor. Canon Hughes moved into the vicarage at Llangunnor and made it clear to the congregation at Llangunnor that he was not their vicar but the Priest in Charge.
