Llangunnor Parish Council - Notice of Meeting

A meeting of the above council will be held at the Login schoolroom on Friday the 15th day of February 1918 at 7pm

Business

To consider the application of the Assistant Overseer for an increase of salary.
To consider correspondence from the Board of Agricultural with regards to the necessity of producing more food.
To consider correspondence in regards to the blinded soldiers and sailors.
And any other business.

A meeting was held at the Login schoolroom on Tuesday the 15th day of February 1918 at 7pm. Rev George Evans presided.

Proposed by Mr Thomas Richards and seconded by Mr Thomas Walters that the Assistant Overseer be allowed an increase of ten pounds (£10) of his salary and that the increase be allowed from the 29th September 1917, ie £40 per annum. Carried.

Mr David Roberts proposed that the increase is to terminate at the end of the war. No seconder.

In regards to the necessity of producing more food the Council took no action in the matter.

Proposed by Mr Benjamin Edwards and seconded by Mr John Morris that the application for a donation towards the National Institute for the Blind be deferred to the next meeting.

It was proposed by Mr David Roberts and seconded by Mr John Morris that a Parish Meeting be held on the 5th day of March at 7pm to consider the desirability of having a jumble sale.

Mr Thomas Griffiths proposed and Mr David Evans seconded that Major Aslett, Bolahaul be asked to preside at the meeting.

The Chairman (Rev. G Evans), Mr Thomas Richards, Mr Benjamin Edwards, Mr Thomas Walters, Mr Essex Morris, Mr David Evans, Mr David Roberts, Mr John Rees, Mr Benjamin Griffiths, Mr John Morris, Mr John Price, Mr Thomas Griffiths (12) and the Clerk Daniel Rees.
